I love my DIY brides. I love the special details that they spend so much time perfecting. Each one representing something important in their lives. Brooke called me and asked me to do the personal flowers for her wedding along with a few tid bits to have available for pick up. This was the first time I’ve had this request and I was initially skeptical. But I found out her planner was once one of our very own. Kelsi worked with us for a whole season before moving away. We miss her dearly and wish her well in everything she does. So naturally, I would do everything I could for her bride. We made the personal flowers and gave her some loose flowers to DIY on site. The result was perfection. I wouldn’t expect anything less from Kelsi, Brooke and all of her amazing wedding vendors! ❤️❤️❤️
Somewhere in the craziness we like to call “Wedding Season” we took part in a beautiful ethereal photo shoot. I always love working with Allie and John Photography but something about this shoot was special. It was during the busiest time of year for most wedding professionals. So attempting to get this together, we needed nothing short of a miracle. Turns out, the loveliness that all of these vendors contributed was much more beautiful than we could have ever dreamed of! It was even featured with Wedding Day Online. Check it out here!
Our models, a real life husband and wife team, looked so stunning in the most perfect lighting that Allie personally scouted out. It created what we can only call perfection. Amazing makeup and hair for our lovely Bride, Rebeca who also hand crafted the heavenly invitation suite. The gown was beyond remarkable and the desserts fit flawlessly into theme.
I feel so honored to have been chosen to design the tablescape for this styled shoot. From start to finish it was divine, sublime and exquisite! Each detail reminiscent of the Lake Michigan shoreline with hints of Vintage loveliness. Click through the gallery to get the full image of all of these incredible deets!

What a scorcher! Erin and Sumner’s wedding day happened to be one of the hottest days of the summer and everyone was feeling it. But a little heat didn’t stop this wonderful couple from having the best day ever. One of the greatest things about being a wedding planner is that you get to spend so much time with the couple and even their family, and being around this family I noticed there is no shortage of love, and you can see it in these photos below.
Erin and Sumner got married at his parents’ lake house in Dune Acres, Indiana. There were so many details that brought this day together. Erin and Sumner included many of their family and friends in their ceremony, having them speak beautiful words of love, wisdom, and marriage. They added a margarita bar on the beach so their guests could enjoy the lake, there were food trucks from Rolling Stonebaker, a smores bar, beautiful floral by La Petite Fleuriste, live music and so much dancing!
Theresa came to us with her love of the color purple, and butterflies. Through her décor and floral arrangements, we were able to capture her vision. For Theresa’s bridal bouquet we incorporated garden roses, with the subtle lavender purple color of ocean song roses. With her bridesmaids dressed in purple, we left their bouquets to be crisp and clean using large white hydrangeas.
Inside the reception hall we created two different centerpieces to fill her guest tables. In the tall centerpieces we used beautiful large purple hydrangeas, orchids, Italian ruscus and curly willow and in the other centerpieces we submerged orchids in a trio of vases with crystal lights to fill the bottom. On Theresa and Chris’ sweetheart table arrangement we incorporated lavender hydrangeas, ocean song roses, orchids, lisianthus and a mix of greenery including Italian ruscus and plumosa.
Not only did we provide floral and décor for Theresa and Chris, but we had the pleasure of being their day of wedding coordinator. Over the month we spent planning with them, we got to learn so much about them, including the way they met and how they started off just being friends. A few weeks after their wedding and their honeymoon we had the pleasure of seeing them again. They both walked into our shop glowing and with huge smiles on their faces. There is so much love between the two of them, and we could not have been happier being a part of their day.
June was a busy month for us which was very different from previous years. We usually got a ton of Fall brides but never this many in early summer. Each one was beautiful and unique and we adored every minute of it. Brooklyn & Nathaniel were no exception. The wedding was so lovely and the couple so beautiful. We are always a bit sad when we don’t get to plan the event. But, it is always super exciting to be able to create such colorful floral for such an important day! This was one of my favs. It even got featured in The Wedding Mag!
Here’s what we said about it in the magazine…
“Our Bride Brooklynn was such a beautiful and carefree soul. She was so sweet walking into my office, not sure exactly what she wanted in terms of flower types. She told me she didn’t want anything too flashy, just colorful and fun, which matches her personality perfectly. Billowy white drapery above the dance floor, pink napkins on the tables, and pops of blue, pink and yellow floral everywhere. The centerpieces were precious and simplistic which fell into theme well. Some tables adorned rustic wooden details with ball jars filled with the same bright colors and some held gold lanterns with a floral wreath around the base atop crisp white linens. And after the ballroom was set, it looked just like Brooklynn… colorful, bright and fun!
Kayla, the photographer really captured the vibrant colors of the day. I just cannot stop looking at these photos! It was simply stunning all around and Brooklyn really chose an all star team of wedding professionals. Flawless EVERYTHING. Hair, Makeup, gown, we loved it all! And although I didn’t have the pleasure of meeting the groom, looking at the photos tells me he is a gem too.”
We wish you the very best Brooklyn & Nathaniel!

Ps… I am still crushing on the colors in this bouquet!

Cara and Mike-The Start of Their Forever
June 9, 2018 was a normal day for everyone else, but for Cara and Mike it was the first day of their forever. The ceremony took place at St. Mary of the Lake in New Buffalo, Michigan surrounded by their closest friends and family. Each pew of the church was decorated with hanging flower decorations made with Italian Ruscus, Plumosa, Rose Peach Avalanche, Lavender Hydrangea, Peach Stock, and Dendrobium Orchids.
Cocktail hour and the reception took place at the Journeyman Distillery in Three Oaks, Michigan. The rustic and industrial feel of the space came to life even more when all of the decorations were set. From the hanging lights, the white drapery accented with greenery, the wooden tables filled with people they love, and of course the cake topper with their favorite furry friend, all of the details came together to make it day they could never forget. The centerpieces ranged from short diamond covered glasses to tall hourglass vases filled with a mixture of peach and purple flowers (Stock, Hydrangea, Lisianthus, Avalanche, Amaranthus and Hypericum Berry) and greenery (Eucalyptus, Italian Ruscus, and Plumosa). Click on the thumbnail for a closer look!
Purple was the color of the day for Cara and Mike. The bridesmaid’s bouquets complimented their off the shoulder dusty purple dresses by using a mixture of Rose Peach Avalanche, Hypericum Berries, Italian Ruscus, Rose Ocean Song, and Blush Stock. Cara’s gorgeous dress was simple, but had the perfect amount of sparkle and lace. It had a deep v-neck with the perfect low cut back. The details of the dress tied into the bridal bouquet that was made with Garden Rose Alabaster, Spray Rose-White Majolica, Garden Rose-Juliet, Italian Ruscus, Eucalyptus, and White Stock.
Their wedding was filled with family and friends that loved them very much and the whole day was perfection. Cara and Mike made all the details so personal from the barrel signed by their guests, the cake topper, and dancing the night away with the people that mean the most to them. They ended their perfect night with a special visit from a Redamaks food truck for some late night burger snacks.
Happy Life to you both!

At the beginning of April when I accepted a position as a planner with Michelle, she was more than ready to let me start hands on. My second day with her she was filling me in on a wedding reception for Caitlin and Josh Albanese, on May 5, 2018, which was in 23 days. I was feeling overwhelmed as she started giving me vendors to call and tasks to do, but I was in it to win it. This is the job I had dreamed of having for the last 5 years and now here I was.
For the next 3 weeks I was working closely with the vendors, the bride and the mother of the groom, handling guest counts, food orders and scheduling the timeline for the day of. I was confident that everything would run smoothly, I was well informed of the flow of the evening and was sure nothing could go wrong.
May 4, 2018: set up day. I got to the venue ready to set up tables, linens, and the centerpieces when Michelle and Kristin brought them. I quickly realized that the tables were just being dropped off and not set up. I started to panic because I wanted to be ahead of schedule and get the tables and linens up before everyone else got there. Thankfully when Michelle and Kristin got there we kicked it into high gear and got the room set up in no time, making it look absolutely beautiful. Caitlin and Josh’s centerpieces were an abundance of succulents and cacti potted into different vases, and votives using pink Himalayan salt rocks and different shades of grey pebbles. Each centerpiece was surrounded by candles of all different sizes and heights, placed on top of satin mocha linens.
May 5, 2018: Wedding Day, it’s 9:00 AM and I’m packing up my car with everything I’ll need for the day, ready to leave to pick up desserts from two bakeries. I arrived at the venue to make sure the stage was being set up in the proper area. Michelle and Kristin brought the napkins and the additional décor to put the finishing touches on the room. Michelle asks me at that moment if I would be okay being here without them, I said absolutely! I was ready for this, I spoke with all the vendors multiple times, I knew the timeline up and down, I was totally able to handle this on my own. 2:00 PM rolls around and the other girls have to leave for another wedding décor set up. I had until 4:45 PM to finish up everything else for the evening before guests started to arrive. I went around the tables to light the candles as guests began to arrive for cocktail hour. I touched base with Caitlin, Josh and Debbie Albanese and they loved everything! Thankfully as guests came to me with questions, I felt confident because I knew I had the right answers.
I handled my first wedding by myself, and even though it was only a reception I felt very confident in my work. I had great guidance from Michelle and I made sure I had everything in line for the day of the event. The vendors were wonderful and communicating with them so well made my job easy. From start to finish I saw my emotions change, in the beginning I was nervous, and overwhelmed with the tasks at hand, and through the middle all the way to the end I realized that I love my job and that this is what I wanted to do because everything came together wonderfully.
And, as if nothing else could top this high… The most beautiful photos of the loveliest couple! Congrats Caitlin and Josh.

She rounds us out perfectly and we cannot wait to have more weddings with her by our side. Read her story here!
My love for parties and planning parties has been around since I was a little girl. When going into college, I knew I wanted to do something that centered around making other people happy. I am currently enrolled at Purdue Northwest and am earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management.
My goal is to become a wedding planner, and Unveiled Weddings and Events is the perfect environment to learn and experience it all. My love for Pinterest, organization, and happily ever afters make wedding planning the perfect fit for me. I cannot wait to learn more, meet new people, and make their dreams a reality.
There have been so many changes with Unveiled Weddings and Events over the years! It has been a wild ride for sure. Wedding planning will always have a special place in my heart. However, managing a business and trying to add services to accommodate all of our couples has been hectic. We strive to be the best in the industry and to provide our clients with quality customer service, always. So, it is my honor to be able to pass the flower crown on to our newest Wedding Planner, Allison Booker. I will still be planning but she will take over the majority of our case load so that we can continue to provide amazing services to all of our clients including fresh floral designs, rentals, linens and drapery!
Here is a little bit about Allison! We cannot wait to see all of the lovely things she will do! Welcome to Unveiled!!
For the past four years I have had family and friends ask me to plan their parties and I couldn’t refuse! From then on I fell in love with planning events and seeing people so happy on their day. After graduating with my Bachelors Degree in Business Management I enrolled in two certification courses in wedding and event planning to expand my knowledge in the industry before I took on the role of a planner.
I pride myself on my organizational skills and my ability to handle stressful situations well. Every event is different and my goal is to make your day as unique and perfect for you as possible. It would be my pleasure to make your dream day come true!
This past winter we have been going through some photos and reflecting on our 2017 wedding season. We realized that the final wedding of the year was our first double header! And by double header I mean two weddings in one weekend. And by two weddings I mean both in the same day!
This is probably no big deal for most wedding vendors. We have a pretty small but super tight knit team at Unveiled. We love what we do and we work very hard at making our bride's day perfect. We offer services such as full and partial event planning, floral design, general design, drapery and more. So, two floral jobs or two planning jobs are no problem. But, both brides chose our full event planning/design packages plus floral! Ahhhhhhhh! We were so excited and it was all fantastic but a little scary at the same time.
We broke up into two small teams. Both brides needed to get the very best care. We meticulously planned out every detail and went our separate ways that beautiful October day. One team went to Chicago and one team to Chesterton. Each bride had very different taste and the planning process for each was so much fun!
Wedding #1 Amy & Joel - This was our home town wedding in Chesterton and the one that I attended myself. I have known this family for a long time. In fact, I planned her sister's wedding almost 5 years ago. I was thrilled to get a call back for Amy! Check out these beautiful photos!

Wedding #2 Katie & Drew - Sweet Home Chicago! I am a city girl at heart and I was super sad I couldn't attend this wedding. Although I assisted with the planning process, they were in good hands with my sister Lisa. We have planned many events together over the years and her team ROCKED it! Check it out.

So, what is the moral of the story you ask. Well...never under estimate the power of team work. It was hard and some of us worked a 70 hour week but, it was worth every second! We adore all of our brides and we look forward to starting the 2018 wedding season off with a bang! We can even handle a few more double headers!
Love & Kisses,
